Say Cheese! Photography Tips For All Skill Levels
Photography is a very rewarding hobby. Concentrating on capturing specific moments in time with the right lighting and angle can help you escape from the stresses of everyday life. You capture a moment in time that is forever remembered through photographs, you capture a younger image of a time once passed. This article can show you how to see your photos with new eyes. Apply these tips to start taking more interesting pictures that will truly capture your memories.
Discrimination is a vital skill for a good photographer; when you are going to show off photos you’ve taken, present only your very best work. Don’t show everyone or all of the exact same subject. It might bore people if you keep showing the same photo multiple times. Keep it fresh, and show different aspects of your photography.
Any serious photographer should have a tripod. Even tiny camera movements can mess up action shots or those that use low shutter speeds. Purchasing an inexpensive tripod can help eliminate blurriness from your photos. A steady tripod will add stability to your frames and give your work a professional touch.
Pictures of people are great. However, it is important to always ask your subject’s permission before snapping shots. When traveling, seeing these photographs will cause you to remember particular memories, even though the individuals you took a picture of don’t stand out when you take their picture. Find casual clothing and candid expression.
Photography is not an art form to rush, not when you are learning it and certainly not when you are waiting for the perfect shot. The shot will present itself at the right time. Forcing a shot can cause very disappointing results.
Digital techniques can give your photographs a unique and interesting appearance. There are a variety of photo editing programs out there, but all the cool kids use Photoshop. Providing your photos with those artistic conversions is simply a matter of opening the “filter” menu and picking the effect you find most appealing.
In order to take proper indoor photos under fluorescent light, you should tweak your white balance settings. You may need to compensate for red tones to avoid the cooler tones of the subjects in your photos when taking pictures in fluorescent lighting, which usually produces greenish and bluish light.
As explained in the introduction, photography is about capturing fleeting moments and turning them into tangible memories for the future. Though photographs are merely printed on paper, they can be the things we prize more than any other possession. By using the tips from this article, you will find your next photographs to be top-of-the-line.

31 of 31 people found the following review helpful I’d do it all over again., July 26, 2012 By Dustin D (Austin, TX United States) – This review is from: Pro Patrol Rifle Optic 30mm Red Dot Sight (Misc.) The AimPoint PRO offers a lot and that’s why I purchased it for my AR. The PRO comes attached to a decent mount, has flip-up lens covers, offers several regular and nightvision brightness options, and has a claimed battery life of 3 years. In the box I received the optic, with flip-up caps and mount already attached, a battery, a battery replacement reminder sticker, an allen key for the mount, and a set of instruction booklets. The mount on the AimPoint PRO utilizes a torque-limiting knob. Simply attach it to a picatinny rail and twist the knob until it clicks 3 times. At this point you have reached the optimum tightness, leaving your optic secured firmly to the rail without causing rail damage. I’ve removed my PRO several times for cleaning. There are small areas where the finish of the rail is slightly scuffed, but I’d say that’s about on par for any mount. I have had zero problems with the mount shifting during use. Also the mount includes a spacer that can be removed. For me, the height seemed perfect with the spacer in place. There are two things I dislike about this mount, the size of the knob and the direction of twist to tighten it down. The size complaint is pretty self explanatory. You can see by the product image that it’s a large knob and it sticks out past the optic tube. The direction complaint is probably a personal problem, but when forcing the optic forward in it’s groove on the rail, and tightening it down with the knob, it tends to move backward so that the optic isn’t seated all the way forward in it’s groove. It’s managable, but can be tedious. The flip-up lens covers are a nice feature because they keep dust off of the glass while in storage. What I like most about these covers is that the rear one has a clear insert so that you can still see the red dot. The optic can be kept with covers down, yet you can aim without having to flip up the covers. Since the battery life is 3 years, it is recommended that the dot always be left on. With the optics red dot always on, and the ability to use the optic with the covers down, this optic is prefect for an emergency situation where you don’t have a lot of time to adjust your gear. The PRO does have several brightness settings to choose from, including settings to be used with nightvision devices. I do not own any nightvision products, but the regular brightness settings cover a wide spectrum, allowing a dim dot at night, and a very bright dot in daylight. The adjustments for windage and elevation are pretty standard, in that they require a coin or flat-head screwdriver to adjust. Each click is 0.5 MOA. The adjustment dials are protected by screw-on caps that contain rubber o-rings, to protect against moisture damage. The battery compartment is protected the same way, and the three caps (windage, elevation, battery) are attached together via a rubber strap, to prevent loss. The AimPoint webpage claims that the PRO is submersible to 150 feet. I doubt that I’ll ever test that feature, but it’s nice to know that dust can simply be rinsed away.I’ve had this optic off a few times, and it’s been to the range quite a bit. It’s been great so far, only requiring minor adjustments at the range after re-mounting (to be expected). It has never lost zero otherwise. AimPoint offers a 10 year warranty on products not used in competition and 2 years for those used in competition, should you need it. This review is from: Pro Patrol Rifle Optic 30mm Red Dot Sight (Misc.) The AIMpoint PRO came as described. I did a lot of research on this product and many other Red Dots Sights and found that the features and price where best suited for my requirements. The AIMpoint PRO has a lot of the same features of the COMP M4 models at a more affordable price. Solid construction, multiple red dot settings, and compatible with a night vision add-on for future modifications. I also liked that it has the lens covers with the visible back for any emergency uses that may require a faster reaction time. Long battery life and easy to mount also, this was a good purchase IMO. I chose the AIMpoint PRO over the EOTech, but both are solid performers. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comments (3)
11 of 11 people found the following review helpful Great product., July 20, 2012 By Jayme R M – Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Pro Patrol Rifle Optic 30mm Red Dot Sight (Misc.) I wasn’t sure if I would like shooting with holographic sights on my AR, so I first bought a cheaper version ($80 off brand) and I loved it…while it lasted (about 6 months). I did a lot of research on both the Aimpoint and EO Tech sights, but in the end I liked the controls and incredible battery life the Aimpoint offered better. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for and this sight is worth every penny. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment
Sweet. I actually already? ordered the M4s on a Larue mount. Thanks.
greater fov, no battery compartment blocking your? situational awarness
Besides personal preference, is there any reason to get the? M4s over the M4?
Yes, tricked? out w/ what looks like Magpul Furniture
i wanna see that flashbang test too bro. and? i wish this aimpooint guy would do some more videos
Is that the M4? Carbine?
where can i get that cover he has on his? comp m4?
The 8 years is a PROJECTED lifespan. The sight is not even 8 years old? so there is no way to prove it.
And I doubt that they include the natural degradation of a AA battery over 8 years in their calculations.
Then again, I have never heard of someone running out batteries on one of these…
T1 vs? m4s
Its true, even w/ the older Aimpoint compm3 my dad used for 8 years roughly and he never turned it off lol it just died? like 3 months ago
8 years?? ya right
Where can I find one in Flat Dark Earth? I? can’t find one anywhere…
Acog vs Aimpoint? reliability test… Who would win?
I vote acog.
