Use an optical sight without modifying the 1911, April 27, 2013 By G. Norton – Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Aimtech Black Scope Mount For Colt Government 45 APM7 (Misc.) Unlike some other mounts for optical sites, the Aimtech Scope Mount lets you install an optical site without modification of the frame or slide. It anchors solidly to the frame using screws that replace the hammer pin and the mainspring pin (they are really pins with threaded ends that hold the Aimtech). The kit comes with a hex key to tighten these pin screws. The grip screws don’t hold it in place, but they can be installed so you don’t lose them. Same thickness as a standard grip panel so there was no change in how I grip the pistol. It is quite sturdy and will take a pretty good whack (or drop) to knock it out of alighment; I’ve removed it, then later replaced it with no change in the zero. The rail sits high so the iron sites remain usable. The slide can be removed, though it takes something smaller than my finger top push out the slide lock. The ejection port is covered when the slide is in battery but the port clears the mount when it comes back for ejection; I have had no jams or trapped brass in over 300 rounds. There are at least 3 drawbacks, none-the-less. One is removal of the slide lock; if the hole were larger or counter-sunk it could be pushed out with a finger rather than a stick, pen, or punch. Also, the mount does not work with an ambi safety. I suppose the right-side half of the safety could be removed (you must remove the safety anyway to replace the hammer pin). The biggest drawback is the only way to rack the slide is to sling-shot it. The more solid hand-over-the-slide technique just doesn’t work, even with front slide serrations; the mount gets in the way. But then, the mount is for target (Bullseye) and not combat shooting. horselips, August 19, 2012 By horselips – Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Aimtech Black Scope Mount For Colt Government 45 APM7 (Misc.) Rock solid mount for my AMT Longslide target pistol. Nothing else out there compares-no modifications necessary to the gun, so collector value is preserved. Easily a 5 star product. The only problem is while this mount replaces the grip panel on the right side, there is no matching panel for the left side, so your pistol ends up with mismatched grips. I called Aimtech and suggested offering a matching left hand grip, and they couldn’t have cared less. 4 Stars for that. I would Like to purchase this item i would appreciate it if you can get a extra one? lol
Well? I would
Its a prototype that I am experimenting with. The design? is supposed to replicate an IPSC Open gun. We are still trying to figure out how to make it so that cost is low enough for most people to buy. Right now there is a lot of? machining that goes into it and the cost may be too much to warrant making more to sell.
Compensator where do I find that at just got my 1911? back from sig about to test your 15 round mag out for the first time thanks

That mount did not have the blast shield to begin with. So you are right that it is not there. I painted it wilh Alumahide from Brownells.
You can find some mounts like this one that have a picatinny rail on? top. This mount is specifically made for the C-More.
Where did u get that muzzle? break?
On yours I noticed that it doesn’t have the little flip thing on the front did you cut that off or something( did you blue? your mount as well)?. Also can you place a rail on that mount? Im new at this and kinda want to pick your brain so to speak if that’s ok. also where did you get your compinsator I like that way that one looks
Try? Brownells P/N 005-100-000WB or keywork ALLCHIN
Where would I find a scope mount like yours? i’ve been looking for like 3? days and have found nothing.
I sent you an email through YouTube. There is a Brownells link on my blog page. I will put a link? in this video description too.
Where would i inquire for a? scope mount like that?
It’s been? a couple of months now since installing the base pads on five magazines and have since also installed +4 followers. Imaging that, 15 round magazines now! So when loaded up, that’s 75 rounds of 22 caliber fun!
Basepad installed exactly as the video shows. It works well. Always 11 and sometimes 12 which includes one? in the chamber. Also makes it easier to seat the mag with the extra length. A winner.
I purchased the base pads awhile back and the install overall? was simple and easy. Took it to the range and they worked flawlessly.
I picked up a bunch of these followers to test with the basepads. ? I am getting 15 rounds in a mag and it runs!
These give 1 extra round of capacity. In some cases 2 extra rounds. Plus,? these do not have all the sharp edges and resemble a traditional 1911 basepad a little closer in my opinion.
How do these compare to the CWA magazine base pads that are metal? They are roughly the same price. Both look to be of quality but having a? hard time deciding. At the 15 price point these look best but if they go to 20 then the CWA are chaper….
